Introduction of Enzymatic Desizing

In the process of weaving, fibers need sizing to increase fastness. In dyeing, bleaching, and printing, the slurry should be removed, and after printing, the slurry should also be removed. The quality of resizing directly affects the quality of finished products, such as hand feel, whiteness, finish, color supply, white core, and strength. At present, starch sizing is mostly used. There are many desizing methods, such as caustic soda, sulfuric acid, hydrogen peroxide, etc. But these chemical products not only damage the fabric but also pollute the environment. Under certain conditions, the starch slurry can be rapidly changed into dextrin by using the enzyme preparation alpha-amylase, and the liquefied soluble dextrin can be washed with water to achieve the purpose of desizing. Enzyme desizing can be used for cotton, silk, nylon, viscose, blended fabrics, dyed poplin, and chemical fiber blended fabrics.
Enzyme desizing has many advantages and is adopted by more and more factories, especially for some high-grade fabrics. In foreign countries, the enzyme desizing process accounts for a large proportion. Its characteristics are as follows: high efficiency, high speed, suitable for high-temperature desizing, short time, desizing rate of 90%-95%; fabric is not damaged, and after desizing, the fabric feels soft, plump, has bright finish, colorful dyeing; desizing and fixing can be treated in the same bath, shorten the process flow, improve labor productivity; it is used for whitening, which can improve capillary efficiency and can improve labor production conditions, save fuel, reduce costs, and can be used for continuous large-scale production.
